Councillor Edward Costello

Edward was co-opted to Houghton Regis Town Council
in December 2008. Edward grew up in Houghton Regis,
and is married with 2 children and one grandchild.
His interests are watching football and cricket,
and in spending time with family and friends. He is
also interested in disability and environmental
issues.

Town and Central Bedfordshire Councillor. Rita is a
semi-retired university lecturer and education
consultant who is also interested in disability
issues. An active Liberal Democrat member. Past
chairperson of the Houghton Regis and Dunstable
Branch, and has also served as the treasurer of the

now retired. 2 children, married, ex-navy.
Part-time worker for Age Concern, and is concerned
about the environment and any local issues
concerning Houghton Regis. Deputy Mayor of Houghton
Regis 2009/10.

Regis since 1993. Andrew is concerned with
disability issues and is an active member of the
Multiple
Sclerosis society. An active Liberal Democrat

An active trade union official, Tony works for the
prison service as a vocational training officer.
Tony has lived in Houghton Regis since 2002 and
likes the community spirit of the area. He is
interested in developing recreational areas for
all, and improving the security of the environment.
He is involved in local issues and is a school
governor at Kings Houghton Middle School. Mayor of
Houghton Regis 2008/9.

Married, with 2 children and 1 grandchild, and has
lived locally since 1974. A Special Educational
Needs co-ordinator, Lynda advises and supports
families in the private and voluntary sector.
Interested in the traffic problems in Houghton
Road, and the planned by-pass. Lynda believes more
needs to be done for young people in Houghton
